Our lodge has enjoyed a long history of relatively trouble-free use. One significant reason for that record is the willingness of individuals to contribute to smooth operation of our facilities, summer and winter. You can help by encouraging all users to conduct themselves in a manner that is consistent with ongoing trouble-free operation of our Lodge.
Our major concerns are:
Fires
Please ensure that:
- There is no smoking or naked fames within the building;
- A Fire screen (Section “A”) is in place whenever fire is unattended, especially before guests retire for the night;
- Occupants are familiar with the “Fire Orders” displayed prominently around the building;
Unauthorised Entry
- Do not leave any of the external door chocked open;
Theft
- You should challenge unfamiliar people in the lodge;
Our most common complaints from guests are:
- Previous guests not leaving the Lodge in a clean and tidy state;
- Food is left behind, especially in fridges;
- The living areas are used as storage space during peoples stay;
In most cases simple re-enforcement of the clubs expectations in regards to these areas will result in the right thing being done.
In your role as Lodge Leader you are requested to ensure that:
- You make yourself known to others staying in the lodge;
- Assist guests in finding the correct rooms, especially new visitors to the lodge. Note: There is no issue with people “spreading out” when the lodge is lightly; booked however every room used must be cleaned on departure and parties will be required to move if last minute bookings are made of an ‘unoccupied’ room;
- Ensure that people staying in the lodge are aware of the above concerns, especially in relation to the fire;
- That every group has a clear understanding of their responsibilities to clean up after themselves at the end of their stay;
- The Fax detailing the week’s bed allocations is posted on the noticeboards in Section A & B. Note: If this has not come through please let the Booking Manager know;
- Where a clear breach of any of the above guidelines has occurred, that the Bookings Manager is informed. This information will be used in the treatment of future bookings requests, especially for visitors; and
- Rooms that are unoccupied have the heater temperature control set to low and that all windows are closed.
This role is not intended to be an onerous or policeman type role, however is it considered necessary to improve the quality of all our visits to Trapdoor and the ongoing successful running of our club.
Thank you.
