Hotham Vital Statistics

At 1861 meters above sea level, Mt. Hotham is Victoria's highest all-season alpine resort. Comprising 245 ha. of downhill skiing, Mt Hotham boasts 13 modern ski-lifts with a capacity nearing 25,000 skiers per hour. With an average annual natural snow fall of 440cm, combined with more than 10ha of snowmaking, a longest downhill run of 2.5km, and the legendary Mary's Slide, Mt. Hotham will thrill even the intrepid.

The Mt. Hotham resort includes a purpose built snow board park, half pipe, toboggan run, night skiing, 15 restaurants, 10 bars and a child care center. An extensive cross-country network features more than 35km. of trails meandering through the pristine alpine environment. Night skiing also operates two nights a week, allowing the beauty of the mountain to be admired by night as well as by day.

Fully functional since 2000 is the $17 million Mt. Hotham airport. At 1.5km in length the runway will be able to accommodate up to 70 seater jet aircraft, and terminal facilities will cater for 400. Flight times will be as little as 21min from Melbourne, 47min from Sydney and only 77min from Adelaide, making Mt. Hotham the closest ski resort to any major Australian city. Helicopter Lift Link operates from the heart of Mt. Hotham to Falls Creek, a journey taking only 6min at 240km/h, where one can continue to ski on the same lift ticket.

With snow boarding, downhill an cross country skiing in Winter, fishing, hiking, wildflowers, walking, bike and horse riding in summer, there is truly something for everyone all-year-round at Mt. Hotham!
